Daesang InnoPark is Daesang Corporation’s flagship R&D center in the Magok Industrial Complex of Seoul, designed by One O One Architects with a total floor area of about 35,000 square meters across eight above-ground floors and two basement levels. Completed in June 2022 after roughly two years of construction, the facility serves as the company’s integrated hub for research in food, materials, and biotechnology. It brings together key units—including food research, kimchi technology, global R&D, food safety, starch and sweetener research, BIO research, and health science—while housing advanced analytical infrastructure and specialized laboratories that support high-level research and product development across the food and bio sectors.
The exterior of Daesang InnoPark features a double-skin façade that gives the building a refined, layered appearance while visually reducing its overall mass. A two-story-high, approximately 84-meter-long lower zone, together with a central courtyard, introduces daylight and greenery into the complex, creating a more open and eco-friendlier atmosphere compared to the traditionally closed character of corporate research facilities. This open lower level strengthens the building’s connection to the surrounding urban context, while the vertical and horizontal rhythms of the facade unify the overall architectural expression. Inside, amenities such as a company café, fitness center, and family-support spaces enhance the daily experience of researchers. Guided by the architectural concept of a “knowledge forest,” the building emphasizes openness, communication, and spatial connectivity, integrating research functions with a thoughtfully designed environment.
